Overview

The Pulsed-Vacuum VHP Generator combines vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) bio-decontamination technology with "pulsed-vacuum" pressure control. By repeatedly cycling the pressure inside the chamber ("pulsing"), it evacuates trapped air and drives VHP vapor into hard-to-reach internal areas, improving penetration compared with static diffusion. The generator uses flash-vaporization technology to rapidly heat and vaporize a 30–35% hydrogen peroxide solution into VHP vapor, which oxidizes cellular components such as lipids, proteins and DNA; at room temperature, VHP vapor is effective against a broad range of bacteria, fungi and viruses. This generator is mainly used for internal bio-decontamination of structurally complex equipment without SIP capability, such as lyophilizers and fermenters, and is simple to operate and easy to move.

Bio-decontamination Process

  1. Pre-treatment and pulsed vacuum ("breathing" cycle) — a vacuum pump first evacuates the chamber, then sterile-filtered VHP vapor is injected to bring the pressure back up; this "evacuate–repressurize" cycle repeats several times to purge air from the chamber and use the pressure differential to drive VHP into items, narrow tubing and sealed instrument pathways
  2. Injection and vaporization — once pulsing is complete, high-concentration VHP vapor is injected; the high vacuum in the chamber lowers the liquid's boiling point, so it flash-vaporizes into a biocidal vapor at room temperature or with slight heating
  3. Diffusion and bio-decontamination — driven by the combination of vacuum and pressure pulsing, VHP vapor diffuses through the chamber and contacts internal surfaces, releasing oxidizing hydroxyl radicals (·OH) that act on cell membranes, proteins and DNA
  4. Aeration and drying — after the cycle ends, the chamber is evacuated again to remove residual vapor, and filtered air is introduced through multiple "evacuate–repressurize" cycles to bring the residual VHP concentration down toward the target level

When should I choose pulsed-vacuum over a standard generator?
