Inflatable-Seal Airtight Door

The high level of sealing required by BSL-3/4 and ABSL-3/4 rooms during decontamination and fumigation — an inflatable gasket forms a strict airtight seal and locks the door in one motion.

Overview

The Fenggu Inflatable-Seal Airtight Door provides the high level of sealing required by BSL-3/4 and ABSL-3/4 rooms during decontamination and fumigation. An inflatable gasket set into the door leaf deflates into its groove when the door opens and inflates against the frame when closed, forming a strict airtight seal that simultaneously locks the door. The high-density EPDM gasket resists formaldehyde, vaporized hydrogen peroxide and chlorine dioxide, so the door can be exposed to the fumigants used in high-containment work.

A fully sealed electrical interlock box (serviceable online), emergency-stop buttons and manual pressure-relief valves on both sides, plus on-board airtightness self-check, make the door safe and reliable; single-door or multi-door interlock configurations are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an inflatable-seal airtight door work?
An inflatable gasket in the door leaf deflates into its groove when the door opens and inflates against the frame when closed, forming a strict airtight seal, the sealing level required by BSL-3/4 and ABSL-3/4 rooms during decontamination and fumigation.
What airtightness does it achieve?
Leak rate under 0.25% vol/h at +500 Pa and structural pressure resistance of 2500 Pa or more; seal inflate/deflate time 5 s or less, with over 10,000 seal cycles.
What are the build and utility specs?
Door-leaf plate 2.0 mm or thicker stainless steel, working environment -30 to +50 C and under 90% RH, 220 V / 50 Hz, inflation pressure 1.5 kg/cm2.
When should I choose inflatable-seal over mechanical-compression?
Inflatable seals give the tightest seal for high-containment fumigation where compressed air is available; the mechanical-compression version is preferred where power- or air-supply independence matters.
