Mechanical-Compression Airtight Door
Biosafety-grade sealing through a mechanical clamping mechanism — dependable and air-supply independent for high-level animal and microbiology containment, from BSL-2 to BSL-4.
Overview
The Fenggu Mechanical-Compression Airtight Door achieves biosafety-grade sealing through a mechanical clamping mechanism rather than compressed air, making it dependable in high-level animal and microbiology containment where power- or air-supply independence is valued. Radiused door corners and an embedded high-density EPDM gasket, compressed against the frame when the door closes, produce a tested minute-leak rate of just 0.024%. The door withstands −2500 Pa without deformation and survives repeated high- and low-temperature storage, and the corrosion-resistant stainless construction tolerates formaldehyde, VHP and chlorine-dioxide fumigation. It suits any laboratory or cleanroom between BSL-2 and BSL-4.
Key Features
- Mechanical clamping seal — no compressed-air supply required, dependable during power loss
- Tested 0.024% minute-leak rate (chamber to −1095 Pa, decaying to −974 Pa over 20 min)
- Withstands −2500 Pa held for 10 minutes with no deformation
- High-density EPDM gasket resistant to formaldehyde, VHP and chlorine-dioxide fumigation
- Endures 12 h at 70 °C and −55 °C, returning to normal operation after recovery
- Corrosion-resistant stainless construction; single-door or multi-door interlock configurations
Technical Parameters (Tested)
| Minute leak rate | 0.024% (chamber to −1095 Pa, 20 min decay to −974 Pa) |
|---|---|
| Structural resistance | −2500 Pa held 10 min, no deformation |
| Gasket hardness | 70 Shore W; brittle point −65 °C |
| Temperature endurance | 12 h at 70 °C and −55 °C, normal operation after recovery |
Fenggu vs. Industry Benchmark
Independent pressure-decay testing places the FG-LOCK-GDM well ahead of the typical BSL gastight-door requirement.
| Metric | Fenggu FG-LOCK-GDM | Typical industry requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Minute leak rate | 0.024% (pressure-decay test) | ≤ 0.1% / min (BSL gastight standard) |
| Structural resistance | −2500 Pa, no deformation | ≥ 500–1000 Pa typical |
| Gasket brittle point | −65 °C | Rarely specified |
