A <strong>positive-pressure<\/strong> isolator protects the <em>product<\/em> from the room; a <strong>negative-pressure<\/strong> isolator protects the <em>operator and environment<\/em> from the product. Sterile, non-hazardous work runs positive; potent or hazardous work runs negative; work that is both sterile and hazardous needs a combined design.
